Dear Students & Families,

I am so pleased to be writing this letter to you; third grade is right around the corner! I feel so very lucky to be able to another year with the Northwestern Wildcats! We have such a great group of hardworking, creative, thoughtful and intelligent students; we are going to have an incredible year!

This will be my third year teaching at Erie and have been working with young children in a variety of capacities for the last eight years. I have a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education, with an ELL endorsement. I have a bachelor's degree in Art History with a minor in Spanish. Our Spanish teacher this year will be Ms. Garcia. She will be in our classroom to teach Spanish, fifty minutes a day, as well during the morning several days a week for our morning meetings. Mrs. Kays will continue to teach Music, and this year we are fortunate enough to have Music two times a week! Erie welcomes a new Gym teacher this year, Mr. Clement. Please send your child to school in their Gym uniform every Monday.

Third grade is a year of great responsibility and as a result each child will be responsible for his/her own supplies. Please send your child's supplies to school on August 29th, labeled with his/her name.  Please note that some supplies such as paper, erasers, and glue will be shared amongst the class as needed.

For those students returning to NWU please bring your completed summer packets to school the first week and receive a prize for your hard work over the summer!

As always please feel free to contact me at any time throughout the school year to discuss your child or just to chat! I can be reached best through email: lpopchoke@eriecharterschool.org or by calling the school's office: 773.486.7161. This is going to be a fantastic year!

                                             Sincerely,

                                             Ms. Popchoke
